What is Club Football? The SIUE Club Football Team is a student organization on the Campus of Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. As a student organization it is our responsibility to provide SIUE students with an outlet for creative and athletic energy. We are organized and run by the students in our club. It takes exceptional student-athletes to create and manage a club sport. We are very proud of OUR University and we will continue to push for nothing but excellence from our players and our team. How are Club Sports different from an intercollegiate team? We are different from an intercollegiate team because our players are not given scholarships. Our players pay club dues in order to play. Most do this because of their Love for the game. We play NCAA regulation football but are not part of the NCAA. Who do you play? We play other Club football teams from universities in the Midwest. We also play junior varsity teams from local colleges and universities. We do this to provide our players and fans more games. What do I have to do to join the club? Our organization hopes to provide an outlet for all of those people who love the game of football and want to continue to compete in the sport. While we do strive to win games and remain competitive, no one is turned away. It is helpful to have prior playing experience, however it is not required. All interested students are welcome to join. Our Mission Our mission is to provide a healthy atmosphere where young adults can compete alongside their peers in a game they love. We strive to field the most competitive team possible while still remaining focused on academics. We also strive to be a source of pride for ourselves, our families, the faculty and staff of SIUE, and the university itself. |
